Visually stunning but not terribly engaging otherwise Passengers has at heart a reasonable science fiction plot but the tension is not taught enough to make this totally engaging. The movie is at its best during the scenes involving the robotic barman, played by Michael Sheen, who dispenses wisdom as well as cocktails to the titular passengers Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
It's another case of a good cast, nice idea and big budget being let down by a pretty duff script.
