Review of Paris Je T'aime (2006) by Patrick L — 04 Feb 2012
I took a chance on this film in part thanks to Julie Delpy (though she is not in this film).
This is a series of looks at romance (or its after effects) in the city of Paris.
I recognized a few actors in this film and enjoyed most of the films within this film, even the one which has some rather pointed references to love between two people of the same gender. I think this is a film that nobody in Hollywood could have done for they lack the imagination and the sensitivity to create such a film (and I do like some of what Hollywood produces).
Of the various scenarios, one that stands out is the man who is marketing products and gets a very unusual "welcome" from one shop owner(?). I have to say that this one piqued my curiosity and interest, even if it was very strange. Nick Nolte's turn as the father of a young woman was very unusual and not what I initially thought it was, showing that we can easily judge wrongly by appearances. I highly recommend this film!
