Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Auta A — 28 Jul 2009
A sensitive, thought-provoking and occasionally didactic film. The film offers food for thought, aesthetically far removed from what we see on the news. It allows for a psychological depth that this conflict usually sorely lacks.
Its outlook on martyrdom is blackly funny, harsh, brutal and heartbreaking, but never in any way fanatical. Melodramatically troubling but simply excellent. Recommend!
