Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Prach P — 16 Apr 2013
Paradise Now is about two Palestinian suicide bombers and a girl running and driving up and down town, debating the pros and cons of suicide bombing. The arguments took on premises about freedom, equality and human dignity - all secular and humanistic concepts. I felt like I was listening to Western commentators debating the ethics of suicide bombing through the mouths of Palestinian militants.
Though I know almost nothing about suicide bombers in real life, I'm nevertheless very sure that most of what the film tells us about them are inaccurate.
