Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Ayman S — 03 Oct 2009
Gutwrenching and outwardly controversial, this is a film about life in modern-day occupied Gaza, whose main characters are all Palestinian, but in which there are no heros or losers, and the line between victim and victimizer is continuously blurred.
With brilliant writing and cinematography throughout, and an ensemble of excellent actors, Paradise Now concludes with a most unforgettable and disturbing scene.
