Review of Paradise Now (2005) by John B — 27 Dec 2012
This movie ends on an extremely touching and solemn note, but a great film nonetheless. It brings you deep into the mind of these suicide bombers, and it absorbs you. This film presents to me a message pitying suicide bombers for their actions, and it shows how the act of it is in the end counter productive.
It also provides to me another message about the terrifying power of religion on certain people, these characters are obviously not fanatics, but there is extremely powerful religious motivations in these actions, and it cuts out proper rational thinking in a circumstance that direly needs it like this.
