Review of Papillon (1973) by Joe B — 13 Jul 2008
Just saw this recently and was reminded about how much I loved this story of human perseverance. I saw the movie as a child and it inspired me to read the book. The movie does a good job depicting his every struggle to escape and the harsh desolation of isolation.
The book points out many more failed attempts. Dustin Hoffman was SO young. Obviously pegged as a superstar actor at this young age of his career and paired with one of my most favorite actors.
