Review of Papillon (1973) by Ioana I — 07 Feb 2009
One of the great McQueen films - the scenes in 'Reclusion' have to be the finest attempts to depict the horror of isolation on film. The second half is less gripping, though still a great story.
Hoffman is fine as the addled Louis Dega, but it's really McQueen's show.
