Review of Paper Moon (1973) by Nicholas L — 03 Jul 2011
Sometimes we succumb to daydreams of what it might be like to live in a different era. Paper Moon easily transports us to the American great depression where most people have lesser than less. The movie is presented in black and white. The landscape is bare and barren. You will feel the misery of that period but not for the movie, which is full of lightening spirits.
Tatum Oâ(TM)neal as the little Addie, is just spellbind to watch. She is spontaneous, charming and thankfully without acting cutesy. Nobody can take their eyes off her. She makes you care for her little adventure with uncle Moses. and maybe shed a little tear for her too.
I wish I had seen this movie earlier.
