Review of Paparazzi (2004) by Naralyn D — 26 Jan 2005
I knew this movie was going to be good when I first saw the preview, and it was very good. It started right off with the action, not making you wait 1/3 of the movie for anything to happen. The story kept me on the edge of my seat, and I genuinely cared for Bo Laramie (Cole Hauser) and his family. When Rex Harper (Tom Sizemore) caused any problems for Laramie, I was right there with Hauser. I felt for his character and supported his actions.
Cole Hauser did an excellent job in a leading role. I have never seen him in a leading role before. The first time I saw him was in All Over Me, where he played a total jerk. This, along with Paparazzi, prove to me that he is an actor with range. He should be getting more roles!
Tom Sizemore is cool as usual, even if you hate his character. He's a great bad guy. As for everyone else, I didn't expect Robin Tunney to be in this movie. She's the girl from The Craft, and to me, that's all she is. She just doesn't fit in any other role to me. But I suppose she did a good job here, as Laramie's wife.
I certainly didn't expect to see Vince Vaughn. :).
Overall, I was pleased with the movie and satisfied with the ending. It only has a 5. something on imdb, and I think it deserves much better than that..
