Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Emile H — 24 Apr 2017
The first moment I saw it, I knew it was going to be entranced. Guillermo Del Toro is a visionary who is not afraid of seeing the dark of the light, and this film was my gateway. Ironically, it also serves as a gateway for our Alice-like main character into a selective Wonderland, away from the brutal reality she currently resides in.
But be warned, the quest into the otherworld is filled with danger, and not the kind that dances around death. That perfect blend of fantasy and horror results in a visually stunning but open-minded with risk factors in hand.
