Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Julie C — 25 Mar 2018
If you're a fan of the original you'll like it but overall it's a disappointing sequel. Even for the most die hard fan of the original like myself, it's a stretch to say this one was good.
The ranger characters are great and developed really well. Where it really falls short is with the antagonist. There's not enough back story as to why he goes so crazy and/or how he communicates with the kaijus or if it's the memories of the kaiju brain that he's communicating with.
It's just really missing that crucial part of the story.
