Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Adam H — 31 Mar 2018
If you are willing to turn your brain off and enjoy giant robots punching things for two hours this movie is a lot of fun and better than the original (whatever that's worth). The film doesn't take it self seriously and offers up some genuinely funny gags.
John Boyega does a great job and basically caries all of the non-fight sequence scenes. Charlie Day and Burn Gorman's atrocious characters have been toned down t stomachable levels. Surprisingly, the film's biggest drawback is its lack of action.
At times, you have to wait a full ten minutes before a skyscraper is smashed.
