Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Daniel R — 16 Aug 2018
Pacific Rim 2 from Steven S. DeKnight was in my opinion a mediocre movie. This movie is a clear example that bigger isn´t always better, they wanted to add another problematic but they couldn´t find it and all they did was just making the same story all over again. It was predictable and boring, also they tried to put a plot twist that you could see happening for miles away.
The acting for John Boyega and Scott Eastwood was nothing new, you see Scott as the typical tough guy like in every other of his movies and John was the classical rebel that at the end saves the world, sounds familiar? Just as his role in star wars.
One thing to rescue about this movie are the special effects, all they worked on the details of the aliens and the cities was awesome, they looked so real and well done that it makes you think if those things could exist.
I think this movie deserves a 3 star because it was just another robots fighting aliens but in a way is entertaining and good to the eyes.
