Review of Our Brand Is Crisis (2015) by Smiyamot — 04 Mar 2016
I thought this was a drama, until Sandra Bullock took a pratfall down the airliner stairs. Oh, it's a comedy. But then she meets the client and plays it straight; okay, it's a drama. Back and forth we go.
A little troubling when the movie doesn't know what it is. Arnold Schwarzenegger had a knack for injecting a little humor into his action movies; they lightened the mood without detracting from the story line.
Here, it doesn't work because it doesn't make sense. The basic story line is an indictment of our political system where a candidate says whatever the voters want to hear to get elected.
