The first 20-30 minutes are interesting. This kind of story has been done before but they threw in a few storylines that I haven't seen before. Isabelle Fuhrman is very creepy. And of course Farmiga and Sarsgaard do a fine job as well.
But after that first 20-30 minutes, 'Orphan' gets worse scene by scene. There is no suspense or legit scares and in the blink of an eye the story goes from sorta creepy to hokey.
