I hate these super reviewers, that honesty don't know anything about any sort of composition of film. Speaking on the terms that a horror fanatic should understand, there are many recycled flaws that run through modern horror films, but they can have a driving sensation, nonetheless, though it does limit it's abilities.
In "Orphan" (which I don't know why I watched this), it's sense of relatable evil is VERY stupid, I mean I found myself really embarrassed for the filmmakers of this. Even though I can't say there are some truly AMAZING horror films (except "Drag Me To Hell", literally thats it.
), but I found that mostly, their dark side, which is equally as important as it's humane side, is well done and can't be argued with. At least, I never realized this entirely until I saw how undeveloped "Orphan" was.
This film likes to think it has something elemental about it that takes it to the next level, but it doesn't, and if it even does, it's very basic and very loose. I can't say anything else, except that this is a film that reminds me of that mainstream cinema is practically dead.
