Review of Orlando (2007) by Kandra A — 21 Feb 2008
A mediocre adaptation of Virginia Woolf's extremely entertaining, fanciful novel. This version feels too heavy and serious -- at the same time, it also barely scratches the surface of Woolf's heady, improvisatory, free-wheeling style.
Unless you're a big Tilda Swinton fan (and, yes, she is fantastic), skip this and pick up the book. (Oh, and Billy Zane really can't act.).
