Review of Origin: Spirits of the Past (2006) by Andrew M — 04 Jun 2008
Proving once again that anything you can do the Japanese can do it better. Japan excels above all else when it comes to animation. Origin is no exception with interesting character and art design. However, like all other Japanese feature length animes their stories just cannot compliment the technical achievement.
Treading familiar territory of Technology vs. Nature Origin never quite feels like a retread but it offers nothing to push the themes forward. Entertaining enough and worth a watch.
