Review of Origin: Spirits of the Past (2006) by Dan B — 25 Oct 2010
Beautiful eco anime, though any fears that this is going to be overly worthy are dispelled by the almost slapstick quality of the protagonistâ(TM)s first scene. The animation is a stunning blend of 2D and 3D (pax purists) and while the story does veer into tree hugging mysticism towards the end, it rattles along quickly enough and is so good to look at, that it never erodes the goodwill that the visuals have earnt.
Definitely worth a go, particularly for families.
