Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Kevin F — 11 Nov 2008
Before American Beauty, there was this gem of dramatic dysfunction. Incredible performances by the main cast, including an icy Mary Tyler Moore playing against type as a mother who borderline hates her child.
I'd give it one more star if it didn't start the trend of films with psychiatrists/psychologists who just care so much, just CARE, DAMMIT! Robin Williams, Barbra Streisand, I'm looking at you.
