Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Andy B — 09 May 2013
What works for Redford's domestic dissection of a family burdened by trauma and strained relationships, is an adamant vow to not descend into the sentimental abyss of cliches that such a story can invite.
Hutton is the backbone in what is obviously an actors movie. Although outdated in some aspects and maybe even outdone in recent times, it's deserving of the accolades given the era.
