Review of Operation Mincemeat (2022) by Jluis_001 — 13 May 2022
Operation Mincemeat reminded me of another film that Netflix released this year in January that also has to do with World War II. I'm talking about Munich: The Edge of War.
Both films present fascinating stories that abound from this event, and rather than being films that focus on an action driven approach, they choose a more slow-paced, dialogue-driven format. The actual story is very interesting and just as absurd, the narrative even manages to squeeze in a small dose of romance. It might not seem like it would work, but it does.
We even get an appearance by Ian Fleming, who was one of the architects of this operation.
It's a solid but uneventful film, yet it does what it needs to do if you like this kind of drama. If you're looking for something more energetic and explosive, look in a different direction.
