Was it a coincidence that the screenwriter had Ewan profess to Jean his feelings for her were the "opposite" of the indifference she perceived? "Opposite" was the exact word that Elizabeth Bennet said to Mr.
Darcy when he asked her if her prior hostile feelings for him were unchanged as they walked along that lane. Overall, I thought this was a smart, dramatic, well- acted film. Nice to see a film made for adults these days.
Great interiors and period mis-en-scene.
