Review of Open Range (2003) by Scott O — 23 Jan 2011
A great first two acts. Beautifully shot and ably acted. The gunfight in the 3rd act is inevitable but felt too drawn out. I did like the matter-of-factness they brought to the fight though, much in the same spirit as Appaloosa.
The love story w. Costner and Bening didn't really work for me, but I guess they had to throw something in there for the ladies. Overall a very watchable film.
