Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by Jason K — 27 Mar 2014
A very very very misunderstood film. I admired this film due to it's starling performances, it's stunning cinematography and it's storytelling techniques (using cinematography, visuals, color scheme, metaphor and symbolism to it's advantage).
Yes, it's shocking but it's not made for the sake of being shocking, it's shock value is a result of the story "Only God Forgives" tells. This film is aimed at a very specific audience, art-house die-hards.
Mainstream audiences will definitely hate this film, I guarantee.
