Review of Only God Forgives (2013) by I C — 20 Jul 2014
This film is not for everyone. It has flaws. There is about half an hour worth of people walking around and staring at people. But despite these flaws it is brilliant. Refn's follow up to Drive is not the masterpiece its predecessor was but it is close.
This film has slow burning tension throughout. All the performances are brilliant, with Vithaya Pansringarm stealing the show without a doubt. While average audiences might cringe at the high level violence, Refn fans and film buffs will love this dark crime tale set in the underbelly of Thailand.
