Review of One Missed Call (2003) by Suncica M — 27 Mar 2009
A tame effort when compared with Miike's other films. It seemed confined somehow, as if the makers were trying to create a film thats pretty much exactly the same as the majoritory of Japanese horror flicks released at the time. It contains all the ingredients present in the far more famous and accomplished j-horror films which still succeed in making you jump. But it's now becoming stale. The film itself offers nothing new to the genre and suffers from a below average script, some bad acting and above all an ending which actually made me laugh. It was truly unbelievable and has to be seen.
Basically not a bad film but not one that will come up in conversation much, except for perhaps the ending. Hahahaha.
