Review of Ondine (2010) by Lisa C — 28 May 2010
I love the mood in "Ondine", it feels real. A steady paced movie, which can only be described like the feeling you get sitting next to a crackling fireplace.
Colin Farrell plays Syracuse "Circus" an unlucky fisherman who battles alcoholism. His day-to-day routine is blindsided by reeling in a catch. In Syracuse's net is a beautiful mysterious woman of the sea. Not knowing anything about her, she slowly start to show signs of being a mermaid.
Neil Jordon (Crying Game) makes a moody, sometimes sexy story, which plays like "Old Joy". Sigur Ros provides a nice release of meditation relaxation during the movie.
