Review of Ondine (2010) by Richard B — 26 Nov 2010
This Irish film was alright, but at times it was hard to understand due to the accents. The film is pretty slow and I didn't know if it was trying to be a drama, romance, or fantasy. I guess the romance part of the film didn't really work for me and seemed forced even though it was a major part of the story.
This film reminded me of Lady in the Water, but was a lot more serious then that film. Colin Farrell does a good job and so does the actresses who play Ondine and his daughter. I did like the ending, but I didn't really buy the romance and some parts seemed uneven.
Overall this was a decent watchable film, but wasn't anything great.
