Review of Ondine (2010) by Kheizlina R — 24 Dec 2011
I loved it! I was so ready to belive...............and they ruined the fairy tale. Why did they have to ruin the fairy tale? But other than that, I absolutely liked it. The main protagonist Syracuse ("Circus") is a small town fisherman, self-admitted loser and the town's running joke, is played by Colin Farrell, who even his state of over-the-top grungy-oiliness, that would put even a sardine to shame, was still sexy-hot.
Alicja Bachleda was awesome and mesmerizing as Ondine, but the most brilliant member of the talented cast was little Alison Barry who plays Annie, Syracuse's super intelligent and precocious daughter.
She was completely convincing and adorable without being too cutesy or sappily annoying. Plus, Stephen Rea was a hoot as the town's priest-- (love him!). Overall, it's a cool flick and genuinely entertaining.
