Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Myles H — 17 Mar 2009
A masterpiece of mood, story, cinematography, music, and most of all acting, this is a heartwrenching and profound snapshot of life for those who have been scared into submission to the point where they no longer can tell right from wrong.
Marlon Brando is a tour de force of naturalism and understated passion, and Eva Marie Saint is innocent and seductive. One of the great classics of cinema.
