Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Joseph C — 01 Aug 2009
Well worth the fame - extremely well acted flick showing the rough lives of longshoremen fighting the mob. Brando is outstanding and totally not what I expected going in - a gum chewing, dimwitted (but funny) former boxer who decides to stand up and fight one last time.
Malden is wonderful as the Irish priest and Eva Marie Saint is okay, but her performance doesn't match up with those around her. Great flick.
