"On the Waterfront" is one of the most powerfully dramatic films of the 20th Century & of the 1950s. Winner of 8 Oscars including Best Picture, this film features sublime acting (including Marlon Brando's & Eva Marie Saint's performances that gave them the Best Actor Oscar & Best Supporting Actress Oscar, respectively), amazing directing by Elia Kazan (who won Best Director), sorrowful/intense moments, bleak scenery, & a great suspenseful story.
"On the Waterfront" is a must watch for those who haven't seen this film; it's truly magnificent!
