Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Kyle H — 30 May 2014
Very rarely does a movie convey such a powerful message and avoid being sappy at the same time, but On the Waterfront does just that. It will leave you in tears but also make you want to stand up, wipe off those tears and fight injustice with every ounce of strength you have, because if underdog Terry Malloy can do it, so can you.
And good luck forgetting the phenomenal performance by the one and only Marlon Brando, so groundbreaking in the history of cinema that it could be the primary source material for a college acting class.
