Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Ronald N — 16 Mar 2013
After the disappointing "You Only Live Twice", Sean Connery takes a break, now for the next installment, Peter R. Hunt and George Lazenby had one chance to do a good film with a new Bond, and for my impression, it was a very good entry to the franchise.
For me, George Lazenby's Bond for being a good lover and smiling, no better than Connery, but it turned out very good character. I think the best Bond girl of the 23 movies is Diana Rigg, who combines sweetness and toughness in an emblematic character as well as the villains with their wonderful actors.
Directed by Peter Hunt is quite effective, with the fact of shooting scenarios marvels, create an astonishing visuals and some exciting ski chases. With the script made ??enough for a very long novel of Fleming, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" succeeds perfectly with a new face of Bond.
Note that the movie loses points for a disappointing third act: Bond marries Tracy (what?), and then Irma Bunt (the villain) and her team kill her (what else?) deducing that's more than a bittersweet ending.
