Review of On Deadly Ground (1994) by Cork B — 03 Nov 2018
The only folks on deadly ground would be anyone who invested in this movie. I probably won't bother to review any more Segal movies because they are all basically the same movie - taciturn badass is wronged and blows stuff up and ninja-ing several people to death first. This is the only Segal movie I managed to get to the end of, so that would make it... the best Segal film? Which is a low bar. Oh wait... I DID like the battleship one, and the 'Executive Decision' where he dies right away.
I would have made it through the movie and dropped it down the memory hole, but for the OUTLANDISH ending where he blows up an oil rig, Exxon-Valdezing much of Alaska, and then gives a speech about the environment. Did ANYONE view this thing before releasing??
So if you are a masochist or want to see Michael Caine debase himself for money, this is YOUR movie!
