Review of On Deadly Ground (1994) by Erik W — 17 Apr 2011
This whole movie is basically laughable because the whole thing is just so silly. Seagal's character wants to save the Alaskan environement from a big oil company that is using unsafe drilling methods. What better way is there to save the environement than blowing up a bunch of stuff? Heh, well that's only part of it. The rest of the silliness is due to a lot of stupid dialogue and idiotic action sequences.
With the worst of the movie exposed, there are two great things about the movie. The outstanding music score by Basil Poledouris deserves some mention as well as some of the location photography. But even those can't save this movie. It's a very sad movie for Michael Caine who is a great actor but he should have passed this one up.
