Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Andrew E — 13 Nov 2010
Nowhere Boy is a film depicting John Lennon's rough teen years. Although Paul and George make appearances, it isn't for a while and the words "The Beatles" aren't mentioned even once throughout the movie.
There is music, but it certainly takes a backseat to the story of the icon himself. The title is very fitting, the tone is dark, and many Beatles fans will appreciate this look at what John went through as he began to pursue music.
The movie is fairly depressing but I still enjoyed it and it left me inspired--wanting to go listen to Beatles music after watching. If you're a Beatles fan or you're just interested in the childhood of a man who started one of the best bands in history, go see this movie.
