Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Rie M — 09 Mar 2014
The actor didn't look like John at all, but once I got past that, I really loved this film. the only movie that has ever truly adressed Lennon's childhood in any detail, examined what made him the brilliant, troubled man he ultimately became.
you could FEEL the pain he went through. they got the personalities right too. this is ultimately a story about the two most important women in his youth as much as it is about him, so it was very important that Mimi and Julia were done correctly.
they suceeded completely. you could see the love behind mimi's tough demeanor and you fell in love with julia right along with john. amazing film.
