Review of Now, Voyager (1942) by Maya S — 31 Dec 2007
Even if you like Bette Davis just a little, this is one of those films that is an underrated classic. It is also one of the films that really started the whole 'makeover' trend that is now popular in films like The Devil Wears Prada.
Her character is very damaged and transforms herself through psycho-therapy. Feminist film theorists butcher this film to death, but I think it is more critical of society than we tend to think.
