My girlfriend found this movie at goodwill. I really liked it. it is significant as the only movie I have seen that has a sympathetic view of advertising executives. jackie gleason will make you want to cry as the aging salesman struggling against the tides modernity and his own failing health.

tom hanks plays off of eva marie saint well. definitely a labor of love, this movie. Not great by anyone's standards, but a picture of a shifting paradigm, a moment in american culture of unabashed hopefulness, utter cynicism, and on the surface, anti-septic beauty, lithe corporate vampiresses and gleaming high rise facades.

rare to see the pathos of the elderly on film.
