Review of Nostalgia for the Light (2010) by Kem W — 05 Oct 2011
"Nostalgia for the Light" is a stunning film. Chilean director Patricio Guzman juxtaposes the somewhat quixotic work of astrophysicists searching the heavens at an observatory in the Atacama Desert with the search for political prisoners killed by Pinochet who were buried nearby.
At times beautiful, and always moving, this documentary brings together a variety of searchers working in one of the Earth's harshest and driest areas. Recommended.
