Review of Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) by Rachel N — 19 Feb 2008

There really was no way anyone could surpass the raw, eerie power of Murnau's version, and indeed, the first half of Herzog's film, though pretty good in its own right, seemed like a poorer, colour version of Murnau.

But the second half of the movie, including the remarkable panning shot through the dance of the plague-stricken townspeople and the excellent twist at the end, made this awesome.
