Review of Norwegian Wood (2010) by Lorenzo V — 06 Aug 2011
I was seduced at first by the ethereal, melancholic mood transpiring from this film. The tale of these two fragile beings who can't live a love story because, once, there were three of us, is really moving.
Then, the madness of the girl, the impotence of the boy, their slow descent into their own personal hell of suffering wore me because their unhappiness seems like a pose and not genuine. The ending totally lost me and I drifted out of the film to only feel sarcastic cynicism.
I totally missed the point of this film, which is quite frustrating because I had really liked "L'Odeur de la papaye verte.".
