Review of Norwegian Wood (2010) by Yoni S — 04 Jan 2012
This movie was disappointing due to its shallow realization of the lovely book by the same name, and I almost felt the director just picked rememberable scenes from each chapter and tried to visually capture them on screen and nothing more.
Those scenes felt somewhat disjointed and that something is missing between them, be it events or narration. All the characters, including the protagonist, feel like rushed versions of their portrayals from the novel and aren't nearly as deep.
In conclusion, read the book instead, maybe you will spend the same amount of time, since it is so captivating at most parts and give a much better understanding of the characters.
