Review of Norma Rae (1979) by Michael R — 27 Mar 2010
This is a movie that could easily get bogged down in the details and technicalities of a true story, but it stays focused on the heart which is it's main character, Norma Rae, played exceptionally well by Mrs.
Field. The slow build, no score, (just the monotonous sounds of the textile mill) and documentary style photography effectively immerses one in this southern blue collar world. Supporting cast is stand out as well, Ron Leibman is wonderful.
