Review of Nobody Knows (2004) by Sirisan N — 22 Jun 2007
NOBODY KNOWS is a sad tale that's based on an actual event (although the actual event was a lot more brutal than the one that was portrayed in the film). It's about a mother and her four kids (who never went to school) who live in a small apartment in Tokyo.
In the start they live a happy, peaceful and normal life but until one day, when the mother leaves some money and a letter on the kitchen table for her oldest son who is 12-years-old, she asks him to look after his three siblings whilst she's on a very long holiday.
And so begins their unforgettable and tough journey through survival and abandonment. A journey that nobody knows about.
