Review of Noah (2013) by Michael G — 11 Apr 2015
It's a different take from what we're used to; of a story that we've heard in our younger years. Darren Aronofsky takes on a bold move to recreate the biblical experience into the big screen.
I've been a huge fan of Aronofsky's filmography and this time, his fancy toward the dark and the sublime takes on a whole new level. I like how they characterize Noah- a man who's revered for cleansing the impureness of the world, at the same time a madman who gave genocide its depth.
The intricate facets of humanity are well depicted through the effectiveness of the story and the actors' performances. My faith was never shaken. Thus, it made me appreciate the very evolution of life even more.
Huge shoutout to Filipino-American cinematographer Matthew Libatique (Aronofsky's long time screen partner)- you are an inspiration. 4/5 folks.
