Aquaman. I truly did not know what to expect going into this film. Happy to report that Aquaman is a triumph as it unapologetically leans into every trapping of itâ(TM)s source material yielding something unique in the genre.

It is impossible to not love Mamoa as our hero. They smartly tailored the films version of Aquaman to Mamoaâ(TM)s sensibilities and it works brilliantly. Our aloof hero is offset by his sensibile and extremely capable co-star in Amber Heardâ(TM)s Mera. They are joined by a sunblime supporting cast that propells the filmâ(TM)s 2hr and 28 minute runtime briskly forward.

If I was to level a âcritiqueâ? at the films itâ(TM)s that the film is extremely dense; playing as though the creatives approached the film as it would be the only Aquaman film that will ever get made. While it doesnâ(TM)t hurt the film in the slightest, I was left wondering what aspects could have been allowed to simmer had they saved something for the sequel.

I can attest that this is one for the whole family as I took a group of nine to my second viewing. The kids LOVED it, with my goddaughter declaring that it was the best superhero film she had ever seen. Even her parents, who are certainly members of the general audience morso than comicbook superfans, gushed about how fun a night at the movies Aquaman was.

A solid 7.5/10 from me, with a guarantee that you wonâ(TM)t be disappointed if you allow yourself to dive deepð"±.
